US Government has decided to operate efficiently

I know, it sounds too shocking to be true, but a Press Release today confirms that the US Government has not only sanctioned the Force.com platform as a trusted solution but that more than half of the US Cabinet has already deployed the platform in some capacity.

Technology tends to be adopted more slowly in the public sector than the private sector, but given the state of the global economy, it only makes sense that Government should try to take advantage of the same tools that have helped businesses (and nonprofits) operate more efficiently for over a decade.

Salesforce and Intuit join forces

Intuit has agreed to resell Salesforce.com’s CRM through the App Center. Additionally, users will be able to sync Quickbooks with Salesforce. The new alliance should be beneficial to many businesses.

Salesforce purchases Radian6 for $326 million

Salesforce is at it again. The company has purchased Radian6, a social media monitoring company, for $326 million. With the purchase Salesforce is solidifying the important role that social media and interaction plays at the company. Radian6 should be a useful tool when integrated with the Salesforce platform.

Proposable has an interesting new app that allows Salesforce users to create and deliver interactive proposals. Users can check when proposals have been opened and also obtain feedback on how long different sections were viewed. Commonly used sections can then be saved and re-used on other proposals.

Now there is an interesting way for Salesforce users to view new incoming leads on a heat map. Using Forcemapper users can easily view leads by state, county, and city. When used on a mobile device, Forcemapper will suggest nearby clients with driving directions. Forcemapper is definitely a fun little application for Enterprise users to try out!
